Volunteering - Will this be a formal interview

So my last application felt the most important, I've been invited to an open night at a local charity and see they mention an interview date few weeks later, will this be considered formal like the same process as paid job?
Thank you
Thank you

If its an open night then it will be less formal and a chance to chat to probably a number of staff who currently work for them.Deleted%20User wrote: »So my last application felt the most important, I've been invited to an open night at a local charity and see they mention an interview date few weeks later, will this be considered formal like the same process as paid job?

yes it will be formal, do not make the mistake and think that as it's unpaid they will be lucky to have you.
They still need good workers, a lot can pick and choose these days, I know someone that does this, he has to pay a fee now to volunteer :rotfl:0 -

Well I am never sure what the OP asks on here so your guess is as good as mineI think the OP was saying the interview was going to be later, so he was asking if that was going to be formal, not the open day?
For sure ANY interview is formal unless they say informal chat but then I have never had anything informal interview wise. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I would treat the open day as an informal interview, and the interview as formally as if it was for a paid position.0

Treat every 1 to 1 (or board) interview as formal. I would also suggest that before the open evening learn about the charity and also dress at least smart casual. Have some questions ready as you would for an interview.0
