What should I do next time if this happens?

If an interview goes to pot should you tell the recruitment agency? I'm referring to an interviewer who was hung over/claimed sickness and as such wanted a short interview. Please note I still asked questions and can remember the interviewer agreeing that their website didn't contain a rather important detail. I thought it strange being asked again and again if I was unemployed which I was at the time of applying like they hadn't picked up on it before!

I received an email from a recruitment agency regarding the outcome of an interview... much later then ever expected but something in me says this has been held back since xmas eve, as in the spirit of Christmas as it was when I attended I decided best not say anything about the interview until today that is when I received 'interesting feedback' to say the least, so as it would have backfired on me had I still been unemployed, I've had a few tears and I don't know why I'm letting this get to me, but in future if this situation occurs do I phone the agent straight away and explain what happened? I'm accused of not finding out enough about the company!!! which in another life has bashed me over the head when I've not said how the company operates in the preferred in words - one other thing I can think of it there were a couple of really prospective other jobs in the same week (and a job offer which makes this look less cringeable but there we go, why do I always get the jobs I don't really try at!) perhaps they could see it somehow? I was relaxed because pressure was of?

I sent a reply to say I was surprised and I’ll let it go because I’ve now found employment but now part of me thinks I should have been vocal immediately at or after the interview? Though it just goes to show never attend an interview to appease anyone else! Seems like the agent has had a bad day? And that the interview should have been cancelled. Just baffled. Perhaps the interviewer was that gone, they couldn't remember who said what? yeah I'm seeing the danger now.

Phone the agency to explain what?

When leaving a job interview if arranged via the agency you should always call them to tell them how it went etc

I am not sure what you are saying/asking here

You've got another job now anyway, forget about it and move on.

I would ring the agency after the interview to say it was rather bizarre. Interviews through agencies are two way things, so you need to make your point too. It's possible if the interviewer was hungover he really couldn't remember what you said, so gave a generic answer about your performance, as the agency would want to know why you weren't employed by them. If you give feedback it also makes you look professional, otherwise if you come across as not bothering then they may not be so keen to put you forward.

On another note I wondered if you felt you had issues with not being able to make decisions or feeling very negative if people say things about you that aren't positive - I suffer from low self esteem and if the agency had said that to me I would have been devastated, when really I can see it's not my problem. It might be something worth thinking about for the future.

Lots of luck with your new job!!

After an interview always give the agency a call and say how it went. If it was that he kept asking the same questions over and over say that. If the interviewer wasn't on the ball and admitted illness/hangover say that. Just keep it professional - comment it happened and not 'moan' about it happening.

Wrap up the call with the answer to whether you would like this job or not should they offer it to you.

The agent won't blab everything to the company but will followup with them and say "X candidate would be really interested in working for you..." if that is the case.
