Because its Starbucks, over 90% of the jobs I would estimate would revolve around this.

Though you have a fair point that it could have been another job although statistically unlikely.

I do understand why you'd make that assumption. However, I can't see it being 90%. It's probably closer to 60% (I base that on proportions of similar customer service organisations I've worked in). When you think of the other huge departments they have - marketing, branding, CSR, production - and they have all those departments at both country and group level as well. Then add in all the trainers, food prep, branch supervisers and managers let alone other big teams like HR and finance...I'd estimate around 60% are baristas and customer service staff. :)

I'm doing work in a smaller global customer service, branch based organisation currently, and 10% of the business is marketing alone! :D

Let us know how it goes Sniggings. :)

    Another hint for interviews.....

If they ask you if you can do something or have certain experience, never just say "No". Make it clear that you are willing and able to learn.

just to stick up for myself here...I know I didn't make it clear with the job description but to be fair, if I was going to work at Starbucks in a head office type role/admin, a none barista role, I would have said so, and most others applying for that type of job would imo, not just have said "Starbucks" , but I do take the point I should have been clearer.

KiKi I will post back, just read the staff profile for the job and you were spot on, some helpful stuff I can use if I don't get too nervous.
