Email from Hillesden security

Hi,
I have received an email from DICUK/Hillesden Security - all it says is urgent and ask me to ring them and to quote them a reference number. I have googled them and they are a debt collection agency. I have obviously not rang them back. I am scared - should I ring them back or not? If anyone can give me any advice I would really appreciate it. Thanks,

  • All I know is they had my Argos card account, could it be that?

Just ignore until they send you a letter.

Then respond with the prove it letter.

You have any idea if its your debt?

Thanks for your replies. It could be in relation to £600 I owe a local college. I had my fees paid for first two years and then whilst in the third year I acidentally applied to student finance a month to late and they refused to give me the grant that year to pay the fees. I was depressed and had high anxiety levels at the time and it took 8 months for the GP to get me on to the right antidepresant dosage to help me. I graduated 9 months later than everyone else due to being ill. At the time the thought of completing a long form seemed impossible to me and that is why it was a month late. I don't have £600 to give them.
  • I agree that you shouldn't worry about it. If and when they write to you, then you will at least have an idea what the debt is about. Then you can deal with it; if you are still being treated for depression, you can ask your GP to write a letter on your behalf explaining your health issues and how the stress is making you feel worse. DCA get very jumpy when confronted with potential health implications. Might be worth thinking about, try not to worry.
