They won't send prize - what now?

Hi all, I "won" a vaping kit from a small vaping (e-cig) company in the Advents. Heard nothing, so I messaged them and they said I'd have to buy 3 liquids for £10, then they'd send my kit out with the purchased liquids. I told them I had no need for the liquids as I could use my husbands, they replied "OK", but I didn't receive the kit and heard nothing more. Messaged them again - heard nothing, then left a message on their Facebook page, when they again told me to buy their liquid. I answered that I hardly considered this a "prize" when I had to pay for part of it. Again, no answer, so I left another message on Facebook and they deleted all my messages from their page.

Is there anything I can do? I'm not desperate for the prize, but think what they're doing is wrong and don't want them to continue doing this.

What do you think?

Thanks x
Wins since 2009 = £17,600

MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

Anyone any thoughts on what I might do here, or should I just forget about it do you think?

Check the terms of the comp if you can find them. If they make no mention of having to buy something to claim your prize, point this out to them.

If you are still getting nowhere, you could try the Institute of Promotional Marketing (IPM) - the details should be in this forum if you search for IPM.

Thanks, there were no terms - just a Like and Share on Facebook and no mention of a purchase.

I'll look up the IPM - perhaps a vague "threat" may promote some action from them!

Some while ago there was an e-cig company that kept changing their terms for each competition as they went along*, ended up that you had to be a customer to win a prize (or become one to claim it). Who did you win with?

*They were L&S when they were not meant to be.

I noticed that ... they've obviously learnt from their initial mistake!

It might be worth asking in a vaping forum such as aaec. The company may have advertised there.

That was E mist - classic post comp don't have any winners delete and block anybody mentioning this...

Should have added. I suggested AAEC ad if they've advertised there and are messing people around the mods won't take kindly to it. Everyone is lovely there and getting a bad rep for messing people about on one of the biggest vaping forums will not be something they want as a company.

Not suggesting bad mouthing. Just state facts. They offered a prize then at a later date changed the t&c. That's bad form. Should have been stated clear as day. 'Purchase necessary to receive prize'.
