Hi
I had an account with littlewoods finance, unfortunately my circumstances changed and I was left with 9800 debt from myself £1500, customers the rest. I could no longer pay as the customers stopped paying.
I contacted littlewoods to explain and they cant seperate the debt.
I am now on my own and cant even pay mine.
I received a letter from lowell stating shop direct finance company hasd assigned the debt.
True or False as my debt was with Littlewoods finance I have been told as I wasnt informed of this change to shop direct finance I now don't need to pay as the debt assigned is not from my original company???
HHHHEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP
Please
Thanks

They are allowed to reassign the debt. Still needs to be repaid.0

Thanks
Even though it wasn't with that company and I wasn't informed of the name change and didn't s agreement with shop direct finance?0 -
They have no need to tell you that they changed their name - the original agreement still stands.
Had they told you of the name change and you objected would you have been in the position to pay back what you owe straight away? (I'm guessing not)0 -

it was one a family member setting up a new house and they paid for a while until they realised how expensive running a house is and said they aren't paying get the catalogue to contact them which I did but no joy from them
A letter before action followed by Small Claims is the way to go for them.0 -

So you were acting as an agent for ShopDirect/Littlewoods?
The Financial Ombudsman has been upholding a lot of complaints against Shop Direct where they are trying to make people acting as agents liable for their customers purchases.
