  • Evening all!

So far have kept spends down this week. Have meal planned for to take us up to pay day to use up freezer stores which has helped keep spending down. Spent £6.56 in Tesco yesterday, need a few more things which should be no more than £15 so I'll come in under the estimated £30. I will need to get petrol before the end of the week though which I was hoping to avoid but had a few more unexpected trips.

On the plus side I managed to sell a bit of furniture we wanted to get rid of today for £80! First attempt at doing anything like that so quite pleased :) Out of that will come the spends for DH's night out tomorrow, £20 for petrol for me and whatever I have to spend at the supermarket. As we'll be paying this out of the cash we've now got I've sent an OP of £80 to the mortgage :T

Also topped up our savings account by £70.27 to give a nice round figure in our ISA account.

Definitely no more OP's until pay day now as we just don't have any spare pennies! Super pleased that we've managed to OP £700 this month though!
New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000
    Current Mortgage Balance: £96,440.99
    2017 OP's:£5,935 2018 OP's: £11,956.00 2019 OP's: £11,988 2020 OP's: £1,998
    Total Debt[STRIKE] £29,209[/STRIKE] £0 :j:j:j Debt free 6/8/16
  • Life through us a bit of a curve-ball after my last post (funny how it seems to have a way of doing that) but things are starting to settle again now so I'm trying to get back on track with things. Since my last update I made the following OP's

    May - £300
    July - £355
August - £405 (to date, though can't see me finding the money to make any more)

So current running total for the year is £2,000. I think I'd originally set a target of OP £5,345 to leave me with a mortgage balance of £134,000 by the end of the year which even with the best will in the world is not going to happen now so that needs adjusting. When I signed up to the 2017 mfw challenge my aim was to OP £3,000 so I should beat that. Going to aim to have a mortgage balance of £136,000 by the end of the year, if I manage that I'll have reduced the balance by £8,000 in 10 months which I'll be pretty pleased with.
