What terms or contracts, typically, do you you have to sign when winning the "Sky TV for a Year" comps? Has winning the comp caused more problems than expectd?

I've wondered this too. Can I do a cheeky add-on to your question?
Recently there were a couple of comps posted to win Sky Sports for a year. Does anyone know how that would work if you don't alread have Sky? E.g. would they allow you access via a laptop/iPad/phone? I did peek at the terms and I didn't see anything about supplying equipment or what if you don't already have Sky.
Hope you don't mind my little thread hijack compalex

Don't know about sports only but probably as with win sky for a year they give you the dish and other equipment but only allow you access to sport channels.
No problem here for me the other year. They came and installed everything as stated, I felt like royalty as they gave me a special number to call if anything went wrong.
They need your bank details to set up the sky id.
They never took any money off me, but it was for pay for movies and the like, that are not covered with the win.
My only complaint and its not sky's fault, I still had to pay virgin for the whole package as I needed internet. Was a pain but virgins fault definitely.63 mortgage payments to go.

Are you not pestered by Sky to continue for longer than the 12 months if you didn't previously have Sky? - It's in Sky's nature to pester.2014 Losses - Front Door Key, Premier League, Luis Suarez0

I always wondered as you have to put TV provider, if they didn't include those that already had Sky. I know they are not supposed to discount entries, but i always wondered if they did. Otherwise..why ask?If I cared what everyone else thought, I'd be just like everyone else, and there's already too many of them. :A0

Not at all for me, although when I called to stop it continuing, I did tell them the truth that I loved it and wanted to keep it but had been made redundant and simply could not afford it.
You have to call one month before the end of your year to cancel. We got an extra 3 days while they got around to switching it off.

Edit to add they have never called me to see if I want to pay for it and it was last June it finished63 mortgage payments to go.

Market research, they want to attract people without Sky so will try to find the promotions which attract the highest percentage of non Sky customers, it gives them the chance to add details to their database and they can try to sell Sky to those without it (who didn't tick/untick the right box about contact on the entry form)0 -
I won sky for a year and as we already had it, they just cancelled that contract and started a new one with the new details as I didn't have Sports and Movies before.
When the year was finished, we just cancelled the sports and movies and just carried on paying the same as before. There was no pestering at all by Sky to continue.0
