G24 Contractual Parking Charge Notice

Hello
Please would you help me by providing advice regarding a Contractual Parking Charge Notice I received from G24. I have read other threads, however my situation is slightly different so I wanted to know if this makes any difference. Apologies in advance if this situation has been previously addressed and I have missed it.
On 19th December I entered the car park at County Oak Retail Park, Crawley, West Sussex. Whilst driving through the car park one of the tyres on my car went flat. I did park correctly in a clearly defined space. With the assistance of passers by I attempted to reinflate the tyre without success. I then contacted Kwik Fit who confirmed they had the tyre I required and said they would get one of their mobile vehicles to me within 2 hours to replace the tyre. Kwik Fit sent me confirmation of the booking via SMS with a reference number (I have this stored in my phone). The SMS is timed at just under 1 hour after I had entered the car park. Approximately 30 minutes later the Kwik Fit Mobile unit contacted me, apologised and said the earliest they would be able to get to me was 23rd December. My partner subsequently arrived, removed the wheel, drove to a garage in his car, had the tyre replaced, returned and replaced the wheel. I then purchased a number of items in Halfords and left. G24 states I was in the car park for 222 minutes and the limit is 150 minutes. The fine is £70. I was in the car park all this time and did not notice any signs warning of such a time limit.
Do I explain the situation to G24? Any advice is very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Kim

you can definitely explain the situation as effectively the car was broken down, so they should take this into account , also add the details and receipts about purchases in the shops too
but as a caveat, add this as wellDear G24,
As the registered keeper of (reg) I'm in receipt of your parking invoice xxxxxx dated xxxxxx. I wish to invoke your appeals process as all liability to your company is denied on the following:
1) The amount being claimed is not a genuine pre-estimate of loss to your company or the landowner
2) Your signage does not comply with the BPA Code of Practice
3) You are not the landowner and do not have the capacity to offer contracts or to bring a claim for trespass
These points and others will be raised with Popla should you not accept this appeal, and you will be expected to provide a full breakdown of your alleged loss, and your full unredacted contract with the landowner.
If you do reject the challenge and insist upon taking the matter further I must inform you that I may claim my expenses from you. The expenses I may claim are not exhaustive but may include the cost of stamps, envelopes, travel expenses, legal fees, etc. By continuing to pursue me you agree to pay these costs when I prevail.
Please issue your cancellation within 35 days of this letter, or forward a popla verification code.
Faithfully
you should also be complaining direct to the landowner too , ASAP
ps:- it is not a FINE , never was , never will be , its a parking charge invoice !!0 -
What Redx is saying is that despite your strong case, ordinarily the demand (which is not a fine) is not enforceable because the body to issue it to you is a private parking company and that in turn is a scam artist with no power of enforcement.
The stickies will tell you more but by all means ask on this thread if anything is unclear to you. I assure you that whatever the outcome of your reply from the company, you will not as you DO NOT owe one penny.0 -
