Fit note date to return?

My fit/sick note has the return date or back to work date (not sure how it is worded) for 6/1/14. Do I go back tomorrow or the day after? My work will send me home if the dates don't match up as per their policy (need a note from doctor if returning before sick note expires).

I was wanting to go back tomorrow but put the final date as 6/1/14 is that the date I go back or the day after?

that be the date that your considered fit to work, so it will be 6th Jan, x

If it says the 6th then you go back on the 6th.....why the confusion?

Maybe because https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/183291/fitnote-employers-linemanagers-guidance.pdf says

'The period that the fit note covers. This will either be from the date of the assessment
(Box 1), or between particular start and end
dates. The dates are inclusive, (so a fit note
dated from 2 April to 10 April will no longer
apply from 11 April onwards).'
