Lenovo all in one main comp in spare room... not been touched for a few months. Went to try it today and it won't start. Kept trying to repair itself then said unable to repair automatically. In the results bit I saw only one thing that looked like the reason - it said partition table repair failed error code 490.
Is this a major job? This comp is only 3 years old, out of warranty and cost a lot.

A quick google for that error returns:
<<Sorry, looks like i'm not allowed to post links, but it was to the Microsoft site and should be easy to find>>
If it was me and there wasn't any important personal data on the drive (you do backup don't you?) then I would just format the hard drive and do a clean install.0 -
See if the site helps at all http://support.lenovo.com/en_IE/#0

Lenovo IdeaCentre A320 21.5 inch All-in-One Desktop PC (Intel Core i3-2310M 2.1GHz, 4Gb, 500Gb, External DVDR, LAN,. WLAN, Webcam, TV Tuner, Windows 7 Home Premium) - White
It does mention a one key recovery system but I dont know where it is or how to use it . Got this from google, as we have lost the paperwork that came with it. It didnt have a user manual, that's inside the bloody thing.

Start the pc in safe mode, In the command prompt, change the location to c: and then type chkdsk /r and press Enter.
This should recover all errors that are on the disk You made need the installation disk that came with the pc or you may need to boot from the recovery console and re0install from there0 -
How do I start in safe mode sax? I've never done this and am scared lol
Don't understand the second part of your reply, so if this is complicated I need to take it into a shop. Is it a big expensive job?0 -
