Hi,
First time posting in this forum although have lurked for a while....
I split from my ex about 2 and a half years ago, it was a DV situation ( mild in comparison to many but still with the police involved a little) ....
I havent done anything about child maintenance in all honesty because of fear.. but as I have learned more and more about him with ppl coming out of the woodwork, I have realised that he is nothing but a manipulative bully and I am no longer afraid.
However, what I do know is that he has at least 70k arrears with the CSA from at least 2 other previous familes, he is paying noting off them or to either of those familes and I believe thos cases are on CSA1
Last year he set up his own Ltd company, he is a lorry driver and had to do that in order to get self employed work off the big companies... but I am under no illusion that his main reason for doing this would be to avoid the CSA even further.
His first years books are not due until 2015.
I have noticed that there is yet another new system now started for new cases ... but I can not find any info about what happens where there are cases stil under the old system ( cases that are still live and with arrears), where a new PWC starts an additional claim and also where the NRP is self employed.
Any insight or views would be very welcome.

The old cases would be closed, and the parents with care in those cases would be given the option of either going to a private arrangement with him or opening a new case. The arrears won't go away, he will still be liable to pay for those.
With self-employed cases, the CSA will look at the amount he earned last year. If that isn't representative of his current earnings then he'll be asked to provide evidence of what is is earning.0 -
and what about where the NRP has been totally non compliant.. they would have the chance of opening up a new case under the new system? And until he submits his books ( which will obviously show that he has earned nothing at all) , he will be on a nil assessment and then prob continue to be on a nil assessment?
I might give them a ring on Monday....right now I just cant see that its worth putting energy into ( energy that I could spend on the kids) when the likelyhood of ever getting any contribution is pretty much zilch.
Thank you for your response tho :-)0 -

Once the case is opened on the 2012 system then there'll be an automatic reassessment once a year - so all you've got to do is open the case, then no energy required after that...if he's so determined to avoid paying tax and avoid child maintenance then I'd agree you're probably unlikely to get any child maintenance, but if it were me I'd still open the case.0 -
Thank you :-)
I shall have a sit and ponder.
Makes me so furious with anger.. and I guess thats why I prob will end up not opening up a case , its not healthy to be in that state of anger...
So bloody unfair though... turns out I am the 3rd family that he has done this too. At the moment he is still having contact with my children but the others have walked away because he is such a loser.
i dont half pick 'em lol0 -

Good luck with your case.
If he has a track record then don't be too hopeful, the MY children when they are both of yours doesn't encouage support if they are only his when finance is required
Yes picking em, suggests it's not only his fault0
