Mag dailies - closing dates

I've noticed on several of the mag dailies, that the closing date is shown as 31/12/13, yet the comps are still showing on the sites and apparently accepting entries. Is it worth continuing to enter these, or is it just a waste of time?
Here's just one example: http://comps.bestdaily.co.uk/competition/iphone_5c.php

They're instant wins, which I rarely if ever do, so I'm not sure to be honest. (My view is that they're a waste of time full stop!) But if it's still accepting your entry and you want to enter, then go for it!0

I noticed this too, I did a few to use up my entries while I had a few minutes spare.
It also says 11 days left so not sure if they extended the dates on all of them, though I would swear some were saying 2 days left yesterday?
As someone has said before the odds of winning seem quite low on these anyway.2014 wins - Jan - Series 3 of Trollied on DVD, Anchorman 2 goodies - Feb - Sushi Making Lesson for 1, £25 Pick Me Up Sudoku0 -
No harm in entering but I wouldn't put them ahead of entering anything else (if you don't enter you cannot win) as the odds against winning on most of those are enormous and far worse than any other competition I know of
The example posted 753,570 to 1
The £1,000 cash prize 3,241,791 to 1
and the Mini a staggering 45,118,015 to 10 -

Just curious - did you work that out, or is it stated somewhere?0 -

Its the approx chance of matching the numbers,
If each reel has just the numbers 1 and 2 there are 8 combinations (2x2x2) - 111, 112, 121, 122, 211, 212, 221 and 222
If each reel has 1 to 100 on it then 100x100x100 = 1,000,000 combinations* and so on
There used to be a site (may still be it was a bit of a spammy one) that ran these type of competitions and if no one gets the combination the prize is not awarded unlike instant wins based on winning moments where the prizes are almost always won.
If you don't have a go you cannot win but they are right at the bottom on my list.
*not going to list them0 -

in all the years I've been on this site I've only seen 2/3 winners from the instant wins, so that's since from 2005 when I first came on here lurkingto when I joined in 2007 & now it's 2014! not very good odds for them
yes, I know not everyone lists their wins in IWIW but tbh even on other comp sites there's rarely a winner from them &
I know lots of comping mates who vary comp sites & they would say the same,
hth xplease be a responsible pet owner & spay/neuter your pets, too many strays & not enough homes for them sadly.0 -
I think whoever updates the comps must have come back to work now, after the Christmas break. There's lots of new prizes, but some of the 'closed' ones are still there. They must be working their way through them.0
