Reporting tax evasion

I was given a share certificate to work for a company for no pay for a few months. The company received some investment and decided to start paying staff. By this time I had lost trust in my employer and thought I was being conned, didn't believe the share certificate was worth anything and didn't expect to receive an official payslip. I asked if I could work self employed so I could sort out my own tax and the boss went ballistic and I walked out.
So I did 3 days paid work, received pay for 2 of the days. As expected the payslip I received was in gross with no PAYE details and the company claimed my p45 didn't arrive in the post.
During my time at the company the boss openly talked to everyone about his tax dodging in the past and I suspect this is still happening.
Is it worth reporting this to HMRC as I don't have much proof?

It is entirely up to you - I personally wouldn't report it. But if you're query concerns whether you will need to supply evidence to HMRC, then the answer to that is "No". HMRC will be grateful for any leads, as they actively conduct fishing exercises - they have adequate power to inspect accounts etc.skippers76 wrote: »I was given a share certificate to work for a company for no pay for a few months.
