What numbers should replace the question marks?

I can see two answers for this and I don't know which (if either) is correct:
1) answer = 45, 22
6+11=17 so 12+33=45 and 8+14=22
2) answer = 68, 21
row 1: 6x2=12 and 6+2=8 (and 8+3=11 to start the next row)
row 2: 11x3=33 and 11+3=14 (and 14+3=17 to start the next row)
row 3: 17x4=68 and 17+4=21
This solution could extend to a fourth row (24,120,29) and more.
Answer last month = 18:30. Winners: H Cruse, Troon and Ray Long, Isle of Wight

The first looks to obvious, I'd go with the second as after staring at that puzzle for ages that is more of a mensa answer itms
