Online Shopping - Rubbish?

So I sign up and take a look around the online shopping area of Asda today. One of the first things on my list was Lasagne sheets, smart price of course!
I search and search but no joy.
Yet I visit the supermarket and there they are on the shelf.
Does Asda make you buy more expensive products?
Does this happen with other supermarkets?
Looks like I am going to have to keep going to the store anyway if I can't get what they sell online.

I put 'lasagna' into the search box and found them very quickly. Perhaps you looked in the wrong place?

Hmm.
This wasn't there at about 11:30am this morning.
Me thinks it was the nargles.
Thank you anyway0 -
The website is reflective of your local store/picking centre stock so people see different things based on their postcode. This if they are waiting for a delivery of some items it may not appear on the site but could be on the shelf later that day.Pay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!0

If the branch sells the item it will appear on the website regardless as to whether it's currently in stock or not. This was obviously just a temp glitchWe have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
Ah ha, so if my local Supermarket doesn't sell it, then it won't appear online for me?
The small supermarket on the other side of the town from me doesn't sell everything but if it is linked to there then I would never see it.0 -

It's the supermarket the shopping is picked from so with asda that's likely to be your local superstore, unless you live in London, Nottingham or Leeds where asda have 'dark stores' to pick from which are basically stores with no customers.
Some products are also only available online if they are in a high % of stores. I think this is ~80%.Pay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!0 -

I don't believe this to be true. I complained about the high number of subs in my shop and was told about a process which had been implemented so the product doesn't always show if it has low availability in certain stores.Pay off Debts by Christmas 2015 = DEBT FREE!0
