Loans & Electoral Role
Hi guys,
Is anyone aware of anybody apart from Pay Day Loan people who would give loans without you being, or, (newly registered) on the Electoral Role?
I wasn't aware that not being on the electoral role affected your credit history.
I have an excellent rating on Experian but my only negative was that I wasn't on the E/R. I have amended that now but obviously, it could take a couple of years for that to help my credit rating.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Wouldn't your bank be the best place to start?
If you go in and talk to a real person, they should be able to see that you have had your account with that address on it, so may be able to refer if you were refused a loan?LBM July 2006. Debt free 01 Sept 12 .. :T

I tried them and despite having a current account with them for 17 years which has always been in credit they refused me saying it was due to factors found on a credit reference agency. I got 989 out if a possible 999 on experian but the only down factor was the E/R. Very upset with Santander at the moment! I've also had a mortgage with them for 12 years but I don't live in the house, I rent it out! Thats why I'm looking to see if there are other possible lenders out there. Thanks!0

if the electoral roll is the only issue, then once it shows on the credit files you should be able to get a loan0 -
Ok thankyou. I thought the fact that I would only be newly added to the E.R that that would still not be good as most places like you to be on it for 3 years or more.0

Nowadays, you can be on the Electoral Register in a month or so.
Just a few years ago, you had to be living at an address on the qualifying date of 10th October and the new register came into force the following February. If you missed the October 10th date, you had to wait until the following October 10th, meaning it could take about 18 months to get on the register.
Thankfully, that nonsense has been abolished.
Once you are on the ER, that should satisfy most banks and loan companies,
I've been at my address for three years now, and Noddle still say I'm not on the ER despite the fact I've voted in the last three elections and obtained two new credit cards (for stoozing) and a Jackamo account."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
