I must admit I too haven't seen Robin starch for yonks, great stuff for dipping nets into.Maybe if you can find an old fashione ironmongers somewhere you may find it .There used to be one where I liv but sadly the ubiquitous B&Q have put it out of business. It was a great little shop where if you only needed half a dozen nuts and bolts you could buy them and not a large packet which gets wasted.Unfortunately the big stores have killed all the small shops off.My local high street is full of estate agents, barbers take-away shops and charity shops with just one Te4co metro and a Wilkinsons left0

I'll have a look around some smaller stores but like you said JackieO, not many left. I want it to do pillow slips, the spray stuff crystallises and I thought the powder wouldn't. I used to use it on my Nurses caps ( now that shows my age) and I loved the way it made them, although I wouldn't do pillow slips as stiff as that.:smileyhea A SMILE COSTS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING0

I buy cold water starch in a box from my local old fashioned hardware store. Worth a try if you have one in your area0

You can buy it from the Carbolic Soap Company - just search for starch. They also sell old-fashioned bluing, which makes your sheets lovely and white0
