The site's run by the same people behind Westin Gourmet.

It's £4.95 for delivery on those chicken breasts which makes them £5.99 per kilo. Also bear in mind that as they arrive chilled your wife will need to freeze most of them unless she's a big eater.

Aldi sell 700g packs of frozen chicken breast fillets for £3.79. That works out to £5.41 per kilo. There's no added water and they're described as Class A so I should imagine that they are about the same standard as the ones from Muscle Food.

    Thanks for reply
reason for lookin at site is too start buying in bulk,so freezing
a load of meat is why we'd plan to do.
also quality is meant to be good, wandering also of anyone has used that particular site
  • If you know someone with a makro card they sell 5kg for £19.99 or find an Asian market and you'll get it for roughly around the same price. Me n hubby life weights so protein is a must!

And the chicken won't be filled with water either.

  • Hi everyone does anyone use muscle food? They have some really good food deals but I am a little worried about feeding them to my children. Does anyone here use them please?

  • Get all my meat from them with no issues, it's excellent quality. Even had a 4 bird roast for Christmas. Its worth being prepared if buying in bulk (e.g 2.5kg chicken breast) the chicken breasts are delivered in one sealed pack, so need separating and bagging up if freezing.
  • Thank you :) can I ask what you would recommend for separating for the freezer please.

I've used them once with mixed results. I ordered:

Slices roast turkey - Really, really disappointed with this. It looks really good on their site but came packed with a lot of water and nothing I did seemed tot take enough of the water away. Ended up throwing it out.

Sliced pastrami - Again, disappointing. Looks really premium on their site but the end product is nothing like the pictures. Cheaper than supermarket pastrami but i'd happily pay the extra for supermarket product.

Hache steaks, raw - Excellent. 5/5

Chicken breasts, raw - Very good. 5/5

Turkey breast steaks, raw - Haven't used yet

Braising steak, raw - Haven't used yet

Protein bread - Not worth buying. Expensive and too 'cakey' for my taste. This isn't actually a MF branded product.

Have a look at protein card before you buy: http://www.proteindiscountcard.com/

It's a free card which gives you discounts on lots of protein sites. On MF they almost always have buy one get one free on 2.5KG chicken breast and other offers. They also have a £30 'upgrade' card with supposedly better offers but I had a look through what you got and decided the free card was enough for me.
  • I've used them a lot. Chicken breasts are excellent quality. I separate them out in sandwich bags (2 per bag for quick defrosting) and freeze them. They are not ruined in the freezer at all; I'm fussy. I'd notice.

    Hache steaks - awesome.
Sliced ham - nice but sliced a bit too thick for me. I like wafer thin. I got the wrong stuff.
    Steaks - grrrreat value.
    Protein card is a must.

Delivery? Epic. Quick. Boxed well. Everything was flippin cold as Hell.

My son uses them quite regularly for 'exotic' low fat meats and chicken breasts. They are always delivered cold and taste good apparently. I'm sure he has a muscle card too.
