traveling costs to interviews?

Anyone know if the jobcentre pays traveling costs to interviews?
I am lucky I have another interview, which makes 2 in 2 weeks but it will cost me £7 in bus tickets out of one periods benefit.
Using by bike in this weather for interview is not really an option, £7 might not sound a lot but it's loads atm for me.

You have to book an apt with the advisor in ADVANCE to get it.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I thought the travel to interview scheme was closed a while back? If it comes out of the discretionary fund then surely it can be rejected?0

Each job centre has a fund that it can use to pay for travel to interviews but as far as I know its first come first served so if the pots empty then you are on your own.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

oh right good to know, nice to see they spend as much money helping us to get to appointments as they do in looking for reasons to sanction us :rotfl:
so going by this I guess Denning was meaning the interview could be rejected if no traveling costs are available?
I'll still go but £7 is 5% of my benefit, once water rates, gas and electric and CC come off that it's more like 10% which is a lot.0 -
what if you are on the WP?
BTW the interview is not one they have arranged. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
If you are on the WP and want the fares you have to tell them etc but then risk the chances of them getting in on the act if you get the job and have not signed the consent forms.
good point, I must say I was against the WP being paid for me getting a job, and especially if they did not provide the lead, but I must say the WP I am on is very good in as far as the people that run it, the help aspect is not that great tho, just the basic CV and interview stuff , so I'm not too bothered about that aspect now, if my adviser gets a bonus then fair enough...have to say I felt totally different before I started the WP.
I'll have to ask about it them, no point in doing myself out of money.0
