Hi All,
I just wanted to know if my employer has my name as John Smith but my bank account is actually Joe Smith-Black or something, will i still get paid correctly via BACS/PAYE? The account number and sort code they have are correct.

Unlikely to matter but why not give your employer the correct account name? By what name do HMRC know you?0

Yes you will BACS process does not go by name just sort code and acct number0

It depends on the bank, I make payment via BACS as part of my job every day. Nationwide will reject if the account name is different from the on the payment. In my experience spelling errors they are fine with but if the name is significantly different it will be returned.
All other banks we never have problems with.0 -
Thanks for all the help. This is because i am changing my name via deed poll and also changing jobs soon. I dont want the hassle of explaining to my current employer why i changed my name so would rather just leave and start my new job in my new name. Just wanted to ensure that i would still be paid after i change my bank details.0
