Holiday won with Jet2

Ok, im not sure if i am in the correct forum but here goes......

In October 2013, I won a holiday on a local radio station with Jet2Holidays. On 5th Noc, I received a letter from Jet2 congratulating me and informing me that before 30th, I needed to email them with passenger details: name, dob, passport details, address and also preferred flight dates and flight numbers. I did this on 9th Nov, received an automated email back saying soneone would be in touch within 28 days. Im still waiting, despite me sending numerous emails, speaking on the phone and live webchats. In each, i gave 2 contact numbers and an email address. The reply everytime is someone will get to you and no one has.

I have been given the name of an individual with whom i have been told to speak to, but when I phoned he is unavailable and will call me back. Again, ive heard nothing. Ive emailed Which who have told me, i can write a formal complaint t Jet2.

As the holiday is a won holiday and I havent lost any money, do you think i have any rights or am i just wasting my time and give up??

It sounds like they are breaking the original Ts and Cs of their competition. It may be that people have been on holiday, then there's been Xmas/New Year etc, so it is perhaps worth emailing / phoning again - you definitely shouldn't give up.

Have you tried contacting whoever is in charge of competitions at your local radio station? They may have a different contact to the one you've been given. Although the competition sounds like it was fully sponsored by Jet2, it is unlikely the radio station will want to risk their reputation in the local area, so may be willing to help you with this.

Others have more experience comping than I do, but I think that there may be a last resort option with Trading Standards, as the prize advertised has not been given to you. Someone else will be able to advise on that.

I won a Jet2 holiday with my local radio station however I was to receive vouchers to pick my own holiday... I had been waiting for these to arrive for about 2 months and had emailed the radio station for updates. When I still hadn't received a reply I posted a polite post on their Facebook wall and got my vouchers and an apology the following week!!!


Keep at them. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Thank you both for you replies.

I emailed them again yesterday and also messaged them on facebook. They replied saying they were chasing the hotel and would let me know as soon as they did.

Keep persisting. I am surprised of hearing you are having problems with Jet2 as I won a holiday last year with them and had no problems at all.

OP has not logged onto the forum since they last posted on this thread over 5 months ago, wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a reply - although you never know.
