Evening all! Not much today. Slept all day because of work. In my sleep sold two things on Ebay making £25. So a NSD and a day when I made my £10 a day for the challenge.
I got in from work this morning and sorted out the bannister where I tend to hang my clothes. This gained me many brownie points with OH who gets quite tense about the bannister. I started tidying the kitchen when I got up. In the process I dropped a bottle of Schloer which exploded across the kitchen and lounge like a fizzy bomb. I stood in fizzy red stuff until my beloved came and cleared enough of the glass to allow me to walk by. That put pay to any more housework tonight! I am currently watching Bletchley Park on Netflix which I missed when it was on tv. I am a bit of a vintage nut so this is great, the clothes but mainly the furniture! I do love a bit of mid century furniture.
I am looking forward to tomorrow. Because of nights I have felt a little restricted on the MSE way although have made some exceptional progress. Tomorrow i have lots of plans, lots of things to pay. For the first time in a long time I feel like I have control, like I know how much money I have and that takes away the fear. I know that I can pay for the Paris hotel room, I'm not worried that the credit card will get rejected because I have ordered the currency to pay for the room.
So this is a bit of a boring Sunday evening entry, tomorrow is the exciting day then off to Paris on Tuesday.

Ah, wouldn't that be great if it happened every time we slept :T.The_Green_Lady wrote: »In my sleep sold two things on Ebay making £25.
Enjoy Paris

Wow nights finished at long last. Time to actually have a life again. How exciting. Got up at midday today and went into town. Having cleared my wardrobe I went to the charity shop with a car park and dropped three big bags of clothes in. Walked to town from there so parking was free. Did my banking and then scoured the charity shops, managed to find MIL a birthday present, a lovely Grace Kelly book. Then dropped to Sainsburys to pick up the currency and do a small shop to pick up food for the cats to leave for the 'babysitter' whilst we're away. The small shop got bigger when we saw a lamp in the sale - have been trying to sort a lamp out for the conservatory for ages as there is no main light out there. So that added to the total. Did get a £2 voucher for my troubles at the end though.
On return home sorted out sock drawer, underwear drawer and first aid cupboard. Had OH leftover lunch from last night, my favourite cheese and ham sandwich.
Had a few head scratchers today - the Sky payment went out and I hadn't added it to the budget so now I am £60 out (I have downgraded the package but it takes a month to sort out). I also couldn't find the purse with the grocery budget in it - £120. This caused panic for a while but eventually I located it to the car - good place to keep it don't you think.
I watched last nights Sherlock this evening. What an amazing episode - are you watching it? Currently I am watching Wallender on Netflix (I love Netflix!). Did you see Wallender? This is very good television.

Well as you know I reviewed the hotel I had booked for Paris and booked a much cheaper one. This one is just over £100 for two nights. We arrived in Paris very early this morning and walked from the station up to the hotel, our first MSE challenge of the day. The hotel is just below the Sacre Coeur so it was a bit of an uphill struggle! We just hoped to drop the bags off and then get on with our day. What actually happened was because we were so early and were able to book in we got upgraded and ended up with a superior room at this lovely 3* hotel. The superiority of the room is in the view. I am literally sitting on my bed looking at the Eiffel Tower. What a great view! After booking in and dragging ourselves away from the view we walked down to the Seine, looked in on the huge queue at the Musee d'Orsay and thought better of it so walked down to Les Invalides where the tomb of Napoleon is. No discount there but OH really wanted to do it. We were very tired by this time, nights, early start and all the walking so we found the Metro. Had some tickets left from last time so we tubed it back to the area of the hotel where we found a little baguette shop and bought lunch to have in the hotel. I am so excited about seeing the light show from my bed tonight!
After I signed off last night I re-discovered Quidco. I used to do everything through Quidco a few years ago, why did I stop that? OH wanted a magazine subscription for a late Christmas present. Never got round to them! So I researched it and bought it for him using my Paypal balance. Got 4.50 cash back too. I should have booked the hotel through it, imagine how cheap it would have been then!
So it's just started raining in Paris. It is so mild we've had to take coats off. I expected the river to be much higher but it seemed a fairly normal level. It's just the UK flooding then. I love the sounds of the city. That's entertaining for me and costs nothing.
Awesome!

Hi, So got back yesterday night. Came back with Euros! Thought I was going to have to draw some more out but ended up coming back with €70. Awesome. Also on our wander round before the train went we bought un baguette et fromage which we had for tea. Also bought the same for OH parents who gave us a lift to and from station saving us taxi fayre. Usually I would have spent my leftovers at duty free on something I didn't need but instead I shall change the money up and put it towards the budget for the week.
Sold a few bits on eBay which I need to update in my siggy.
Have had a pretty poor MSE day today tbh. Went to London for an appointment OH had up there. We did the Natural History Museum where we had lunch which was awful and expensive. Made me mad to have done it and been so disorganised.
Have decided to get back into competitions and did that for a few hours tonight. Thought that would be my Friday night treat now. About 8 years ago I had a big competition year and won loads. I love winning prizes but it takes such a lot of hard work. So I let it fall by the wayside. But I miss it. Always have. So am really going to give it a go.
Have to go to work tomorrow, boo! But can now get back into my routine. Need to get eating properly, saving money, exercising, cleaning and continue being addicted to MSE.DFD - 26th March 2014 :j0
