New year - new house -advice needed

Hi, Happy New Year and all that. I could do with some advice and any help much appreciated.
Background:
Have approx. 45k (possibly 50k?) in current property. Mortgage outstanding is 125K with NRAM (interest only). SVR is £479 overpaying £250 a month.
Been here for 10 years and thinking I'd like to move.
My salary is £43,898. Have 10K debt which is funding/funded PHD. No dependents etc. I am 50.
Advice needed: Shall I use a broker and if so how to I find a good one?
Should I pay off debt?
Will I be able to get a mortgage over 65? Although the way things are going I'll still be working at 75!
Thanks for reading.:)
