small tin of white paint emulsion

Hey all,

Anyone know where I can get a small tin of white emulsion paint. We are moving out of our flat in a few weeks and I want to touch up some marks on the walls so that the landlord doesn't have any excuse to deduct anything off our deposit. Don't want to waste money on a 2.5 litre tin though, does emulsion come in 750ml or 1 litre tins like gloss?

Try Freecycle, post a wanted notice in your local area

the money-saving spirit is still alive and well!
  • I know Wilkinsons do smaller tins of paint, so I suppose places like Focus or B&Q would too.

If you really only want a tiny amount, I wonder if you can buy those little matchpots in white?

Ask your friends, someone will have some lurking in their garage.

I once knew someone (no it WASN'T me!) who objected to the cost of paint particularly when they only wanted a small amount. So much so, that he would buy a standard 5l can carefully use what was required and then drop a house brick or part thereof back in the tin to make up level/weight !

He would then return said tin to B&Q/Homebase etc for a refund as he had 'bought too much'!!!

I think your best option is to ask freinds as "never enough" suggests. One other word of advice, when 'touching up' a few marks it is very easy to make the new paint stand out so much you end up painting the whole wall anyway. :)
  • Hi,

Yup, I'll agree with never enough, some of your mates must've bought gallons at one time and only used a quart, so ask them, mind you, you could buy the 5L, only use a bit and use the rest in your new flat, pouring out what you need and adding a tint to get the colour that you want.

It's more expensive to buy in small quantities.
