Making it happen - Debt busting to start my amazing life with my Prince Charming

Over the past couple of years I've had my ebs and flows when it comes to paying off my debts and securing my financial future. I thought I had my light bulb moment on a couple of occasions, but the more I've started to think about it recently, the more I come to the conclusion that in retrospect it just wasn't the case. Yes, I wanted to become debt free, however no.. I didn't make the necessary sacrifices to get myself there.

Two fairly recent events have caused me to have a rethink. The second (yes, I'll start with the second) is my mother's recent marriage breakdown with her kind however financially dependent second husband. I've began to realise that in relationships no matter how much a couple love each other, if you're not willing to both see your position individually as well as part of a team, and work on making both better, it makes it very hard for a relationship to survive.

Cue the first reason to make sure I become financially independent. 8 months ago I met my absolutely amazing boyfriend :o
He is everything I've ever wanted, and checks off the fantasy boxes too, as he took me around the world (Dubai, Germany then New York) for Christmas as my present. He is the most generous, kind and loving person I've ever met, but he is also a realist. He has let me know how he feels when it comes to marriage, and that he couldn't marry someone without knowing that they were fully capable of taking care of themselves if he wasn't around.

Now I would regret it forever if I didn't take this on board and make every effort to become the best version of myself not only financially but in all other respects, not only for him but primarily for me. Would be an idiot not to, right? So among my many, many resolutions for 2014, the two primary ones for me are to halve my debt and come as close to finishing my degree as humanely possible in the time frame... And I will do my best to chronicle it all here!! :A

Now I won't update my signature with my debts until the 14th. I figure as I get paid monthly, and this is the day before my pay day, it will give the most accurate position of my finances and how my debt busting is going... However as a reference for this thread here is where I stand currently...

St George Credit Card: -$ 3,447.02
    St George Overdraft: -$ 2,542.05
    St George Car Loan: -$14,402.35
    ANZ Credit Card: -$ 3,006.57

    Total: $23,397.99

So the goal for 2014 is to get this figure down to $11,698.99
LBM - June 2014 DFD Goal: June 2016 (28th Bday!)
    Car: [STRIKE]-$13,109.06 [/STRIKE] -$12,221.26

    M/C: [STRIKE]-$3,172.73 [/STRIKE] -$3,034.50
    Overdraft: -$2,500
