70% off cheese at Sainsburys

Sainsburys have started to sell off their Christmas cheese at 70% off.
Today I bought

British regional cheese selection, 4 types of cheese 615g @ £2.40
Stilton Jar 250g @ £1.50
various small flavoured rounds - Wensleydale & Cranberry, chillie Cheddar etc 80g @30p each ( they had lots & lots of these )

The also had a few different Christmas gift Wine & cheese selections at 50% off

Dates are 5 Jan , but should last a few weeks beyond that

    I bought some Stilton (half a wheel about an inch thick)on 31st £2.20pkg. Didn't click until I got home how cheap that was. Worth a look out.

    You can freeze hard cheeses.... just open the freezer door, lob them in, shut the door quick. And/or, cut them into smaller portions first.

    Last year I bought a pack of cheese and wine for £3. The wine was £4.50 or £5 a bottle. Got a nice wicker basket to put my current paperwork in!

  • I freeze hard cheese and soft cheese - like Boursin or Roule.
    I also freeze butter - they are all mainly fat. Remember the EU butter mountains that were stored for years before being used?;)
