Hmmmm.... thought I'd try the radio again, but it INFURIATINGLY froze again after 25 mins!!!! Drat!

    Any ideas gang?

What do you mean by 'Froze'?

I use Chrome and have no problems with it mostly. It usually just sits there and I can't tell if it's working or not until the captcha comes up.

On occasion you will find that it pop-ups with a fake page about flash or some other site but nothing will stop that as it's not something you can control on your computer.
Just click any fake pages off and restart the radio.

Its one of those things that will run smoothly for weeks and then will have 2 days of going wrong at every turn.

Don't worry. Its not you or your computer. It's the actual radio site.
  • I was wondering what tactics people use on Swagbucks. Do you try to get the most possible points each day, or just enough to reach the total daily goal?

I've only been on there a few days and I'm worried that if I try to get as many swagbucks as possible I might run out and not meet the daily goal? Or, is that really unlikely to happen?

    Thanks :)

what browser are you using ?

i find it works best for me in firefox, and on sb facebook uk, Nick (of sb-uk) posted 'to use adblocker to stop the fake flash update pop-up', so i use adblocker on the radio.

most of the rest of SB i use chrome.

It's interesting that someone from Swagbucks would say that seeing as though it is against terms and conditions to use an Ad Blocker.

When did he say that? Was it a long time ago?

Was early this week in reply to several complaining about the fake flash update pop-up on the radio. I thought it was odd he would post that, but who am i to argue. What page of the T&C does it say about adblockers on as i can not find anything about adblocker with a google site search of thier site ... but then SB have a habit of hiding things on strange pages at times :( although it would be logical to assume they do not allow it.

also the fake pop-up of late as been an ajax one so would make no differance.

Many thanks for the responses. I am using Google Chrome on my Toshiba Laptop.

I've been trying to earn via the radio for several days, but usually around 20 or 25 mins the radio screen freezes, but music usually keeps playing. At the same time Swagbucks site screen usually freezes too (screen becomes unresponsive). Some times both come back to life if I just wait, but no Captcha code appears even though 30 mins have passed since I started it.

That sounds more like a Chrome freeze than a radio freeze.

Chrome has its own flash player and can conflict with Adobe flash, which can caused freezes and crashes in Chrome, especially if you are using more than one flash heavy tool, such as SBTV + radio or running the radio and watching videos.

When then happens on mine, I leave it a few moments. You will sometimes see a pale yellow banner appear above some webpages saying that Plug In has crashed. If you click the button that says 'Plug In', you will then get a 'Reload' button, so click on that too. But don't click any of those yellow buttons on the radio.

Once you have reloaded, the radio will start up again ok.

Sometimes, as you say, they will 'come back to life'. You might find that the captchas don't always appear exactly every 30 minutes, especially if the window is minimised.
I find that if I leave it open, in view, the captchas are pretty much 30 mins on the dot but a minimised window can be later, although not always.
It just requires patience really. Don't be tempted to restart it if you think its not giving you captchas. Just let it run.

You can disable one of the flash players on your system. Google 'How to solve flash crashes in Chrome' for help of a more permanent nature.

What a totally brilliant and comprehensive answer, thanks sooo much! Will try your suggestions.

I can't actually see it in the terms and conditions on Swagbucks, it was sent to me by their compliance department some time ago when I was having issues with Ad Blocker and radio previously.
In my other post, I meant it was against the t&cs of the radio, because like Encrave etc, they rely on the Ad revenue. If Radio Loyalty were to find out we were using ad blockers, they would ban us and they are quite nifty with that ban hammer so I hear.
I will see if I can find the email from Swagbucks.
  • Yes, I get that message when there are no surveys that fit my demographic.

As I said before, you need to change email address and clear your cache/cookies.
I think it is more than that though as I don't even get any DQ & it has been weeks and weeks and weeks. I surely must fir something? I haven't had a problem before.
Anyhow I was just jesting about the posts about Daily Surveys ;)
