UK Resident? Working abroad for the forces?

I want to apply for a loan but it says you have to be a UK resident. I am a UKBC (UK Based Civilian) working for the ministry of defence abroad in mainland Europe - have been living and working there for 10 years. I pay UK income tax and my bank accounts etc are UK based and my UK address is where all my credit cards/ bank accounts are linked - and what Experian has me as (they don't recognise BFPO addresses - British Forces Post Office)

I just haven't applied for credit since being out here so I was worried about clicking apply!

The term 'UKBC' is given by the civil service and so perhaps that's the answer? UK Based?

Sorry for rambling - any advice greatly appreciated!
