Postgrad loan?
Options
Hey there,
I've just finished my first degree at King's College London (with a 2:1 thank goodness), and I really want to go on and do a Masters at the University of Manchester. The thing is, I'm very low on money - I have a £12k student loan, plus I'm around £1400 into an £1800 overdraft.
I've just moved back in with my parents, thus saving myself a lot of money. The course I want to do starts in September, and the application states that I must have the funds available to pay for my course. Is there any way of getting a post-graduate loan, with a low rate of interest? I'm not applicable for scholarships as the lady from the uni admin office told me that to get it "we're looking at Firsts [class degrees]".
The whole cost of the course is around £3100, and I would obviously work the rest of the days of the week to pay for board and food etc. I just need the initial outlay to pay for the actual thing... any ideas??
Or... should I defer for a year, work 9-5 and clear my overdraft?
Eeek.

Hi
Well done for your degree, for post grad loan you can ask for career development loan it is 8k max. I have used that loan to cover my PhD, you start paying after your course and interest start then, and It is 2% above base rate. Ask Barclays about it, you do not need an account with them to apply my friend applied through them he had no account alternatively you can call them direct.
Good luck0
