NYE Food?

Evening all

Me, hubby and dd (6) are all staying in tomorrow night and I am trying to think of some food i can do for us. What will you all be eating?

I think we are a bit over cold meat sandwiches, dd and hubby don't like quiche or those chilled nibbles from supermarkets.

Any ideas? :D

luckily my local Chinese takeaway is open - so I am planning a Chinese feast.
alternatively - you could have a 'Mexican night'. an Indian night, Italian or Greek. whats your favourite? the idea of 'holiday' feasts is that its a 'treat' for you.

Even if there's no convenient delivery place you could buy Chinese or Indian from the supermarket.

DH and I aren't going out tomorrow. Champagne in the fridge chilling. Then we'll have M&S steaks with pepper sauce, green beans, chips, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms. So posh pub food really.;)
  • We are going down to DD's just down the road, for a small family gathering. We are all taking a contribution for the buffet to make it easier for her. My offering is a large Pasta Bolognese Bake with a yummily unxious cheesy sauce topping. Happy New Year everyone!

Visitors for us this afternoon - OH's sis, her OH, 2 nieces and OH's brother - so it'll be our final 'Buffet Food Spread'. They normally come around Boxing Day, but nieces were rather poorly this year - so it got postponed until today.

Neither of us like the 'Whole New Year Thing', so it'll be lights off, blinds closed (to discourage neighbours from knocking) and just watch the telly / listen to radio.
  • We have not been out celebrating the new year for 8 yrs since the nye I bought our newborn out the hospital, I much prefer to just sit in home chill out with a bottle of wine and see the new year in on our own, some years we have bought a takeaway but this yr we are trying to save the pennies so its just a normal meal, sausage, mash and peas.

Hope whatever you are all doing you all have a lovely time. x
