Pay Slip but no wages

Hi,
I finished work for the holidays on 20th dec. I received my wage slip on 21st Dec ready for wages to be paid on last friday of the month (27th). 22nd I received a letter saying at risk of redundancy as were the rest of the company, and checked my bank on friday and no wages were paid. No one in my company was paid
Surely if I have received a wage slip then I should get the money.....date on wage slip says 31st, but this would not tie in with my contractual pay date.

Have you checked your Interent banking this morning? I know my wages used to go in in the early hours of the morning. Also, have you spoken to your work's payroll department to find out what the delay is or any of your colleagues to see if they are in the same position.
I had the same thing happen to me one Christmas years ago - but our manager had the courtesy to ring us all up and tell us that the company was up !!!! creek and didn't have the money to pay us until it received some payments that were due (we got paid about 2 weeks late) - I started looking for a job straight after the phone call and got out befor the company went under a couple of months later. I'd suggest that you do the same thing if you aren't already.0 -
Working, payslips and getting paid are independent events.
Worst case.
If the company has issued at risk of redundancy notices I suspect they might have gone bust and you won't get paid.
could be just an error/delay, but there is still the issue of what happens next.
Any signs things have been tight on cash flow?0 -
My company is part of a bigger company and its just my side that has been issued these letters. As far as I am aware the level of income has been steady so I dont understand it. Nothing in bank todayProud dad to Darcy.....0
