sartois, we recently had someone approach us on a £450 per day contract. He had been quoted £900 broker fee by a "contractor specialist" and we knew they would simply place it with Halifax.

We charged our usual fee, £249, the client got his mortgage at the same rate and paid a broker fee of less than a third.

That's what I meant. However much they like to dress it up, Halifax does not do something for one broker, it won't do for another.
