Making cake pops?

I (briefly) had a cake pop maker and used it once to realise it was an utter waste of money and binned it. I'd like to try by hand - does anyone have any recipes/recommendations/advise please?

My daughter wanted one for Christmas so we got her one.We thought it would come with recipes but not so.

I would also be interested in recipes. She particularly likes the Fiona Cairns Cake pops from Waitrose.
  • I got my daughter the American originals cake pop maker from Argos last year, and it's been used regularly over the last 12 months, she often makes wee fancy cake pops to add to birthday presents etc..( buys boxes from home bargains )she loves it,pops come out perfect every time ,no problem with sticking or anything, ,there was a small recipe book, but she also " googles" for ideas and recipes. I thought cake pops were invented to use up cake cuttings? You crumble up the leftovers and add flavoured buttercream to bind, roll into balls and dip in chocolate? Very MSE :)
