Section 75 & Buying A Bed

I would be really grateful if someone could please clarify something for me. I've read the article regarding Section 75 claims but I just want to make sure I've understood it correctly.
I've just ordered a new bed & matress, total cost before delivery is £1299.98. I paid a deposit of £277.47 on my credit card, and intend to pay the rest 7 days before delivery which will be at the end of March.
Given this is a lot of money to us and I'm a born worrier, my concern is I will pay the balance 7 days before delivery then the company go bust and I don't get my bed.
Is my understanding right that because the item comes to more than £100 and I've paid even just the deposit on my credit card then I would be able to make a section 75 claim against my card company should the worst happen?
I intend to pay the balance on my debit card. Would this be acceptable, or would you guys recommend I instead pay that money off my credit card and then using that to pay the balance off my bed?
Thanks for your help.
