This thread stirred me to action lol! I had a load of mash left from dinner last night so I mixed it all up with some frozen chopped onion I had, some pepper, herbs and some 'special offer' cheddar that wasn't very nice and a little bit of grated parmesan ... I made some shortcrust pastry and I've got four mini pasties in the oven for lunch today and packed lunch tomorrow, and four more in the freezer :)

Just a quick question about freezing them, do you freeze once they are assembled and before cooking? Or cook and then freeze to be re-heated later?

I made mine and froze them 'raw', so to speak. I worked in bakeries for a long time and that's how it's done there too - they buy the pasties in raw and frozen, take out as many as they need and let them defrost slightly, then stick them in the oven until golden.

i made these tonight, following fizzyfeet guide. and they are gorgeous. absolutly scrummy. yummy yum yum. i did tho leave out the slt and pepper as my 2 children would eat them. and they were still gorg. think they would go well with a couple of rashers of bacon and a fried egg.

i'm so chuffed. def gonna be on my meal planner now.

i also made some pasties at the same time. hubby was well impressed.
