Ideas for special meal

Dad is 50 next month, and Mom is 50 in February. Originally my sister and I wanted to send them on a spa weekend but it's just too expensive. Plan B has become to cook them a lovely meal and then we'll spend some time together as a family afterwards. I am keeping an eye out for some of the boardgames we used to play when my sister and I were children.

I wanted some ideas to make the evening really special and we haven't decided on a menu yet although leaning towards steak for the main course. Any suggestions?

What a lovely idea! We did the same for my parents 40th anniversary when funds were short - they absolutely loved it

Whatever you decide to cook make sure you are not going to be spending most of the party in the kitchen. They would prefer to have you with them I think
