So as most of you probably experienced over Xmas lots of leftover turkey or meat yey!!!
Well we had a turkey crown Xmas day. On Xmas day I took all remaining meat off the bone and put in ziplock bags in the fridge and turned my fridge up to max to keep everything super cold.
Today I made a pie out of half the leftover turkey and I left the rest of the meat I didn't use in the bag but put in the freezer.
The pie was fab! But we only managed to eat half of it so I've wrapped in foil and put back in ziplock bag and into the freezer.
Is this ok to re heat for a second time for a meal in the week?
I really hate wasting food!

I'm interested in the answer too...
I stripped the turkey carcas on boxing day and put the extra meat in the freezer. Then boiled down the bones in the slow cooker to make a base for soup (2nd heating). I discovered a load of meat still on the bones so that went into the soup I made on Friday (3rd heating!) which was delicious but we only ate half. I was worried about re-heating the meat into the soup but we've survived Ok so far. But I'm not sure I can get away with re-heating the leftover soup which would be a 4th time for the meat in that bowl.0 -
Only reheat once and make sure it's steaming hotThe mind is like a parachute. It doesn’t work unless it’s open.:o

Really you should only reheat meat once, but if it is cooled quickly and heated properly it should kill any bacteria that has multiplied during the cooling time.0

Just wanted to add that I have made a pie before. Before you freeze cut it into portions first, then freeze these portions, thus you only re heat once.
I do the same with quiche in the summer, cut in half and freeze each half.
