HELP! need a loan today!

I need a loan of between £5,000 and £10,000 as I am selling my park home and upgrading to another one.

The difference in price between the sale and purchase is £3,000 plusI would have to pay the 'comission' on the purchased which (with a bit of a deal between me and the seller) is calculated around £2,115. So in total that is where the £5,000 loan required comes from.

However I wold also like to add 'decking / a balcony' around the outside of the place to avoid the mud and water in the winter (cant live through another washday hell as I did last winter, more mud got into the machine than it washed out, nor can I spend another winter ankle deep in water every time I stepped outside my front door!!) the cost of the decking has been quoted around £3,500 - £4,000 and adding that to the minimum amount of £5,000 I need this makes the £10,000give or take a few hundred pounds which will be used to help with the switch and pay off bills and buy some basics that we would need for our new static caravan like pots & pans, a tv etc. which wold soon disapear!

Can anyone advise me where I can get a loan fast at such short notice preferably one who is ok with past bad credit history (which I am honest about and am working hard at repairing)?

I wasn't quite expecting to have potentially sold my own static caravan quite as quickly as its not a top of the range van we have at the moment (it went on sale Monday just gone thats 3 days ago and we were booked for a viewing yesterday!) so thought I would have time to browse for a loan! We have a viewing this afternoon and have ben told they are very keen on purchasing!

Obviously when applying for a loan we canot state it's true purpose so will say its for debt consolidation, which isnt exactly a lie just bending the idea slightly!

So HELP! if you can advise!

Thanks

:)

In general, one might get a loan approved online, today - but it would still take 2 weeks or more the money to get into your bank account. It's very unlikely that you'd get a good loan with a poor credit record.

Incidentally, have you now settled all your debt problems? I'm astonished that you're even contemplating more debt after all you've been through.
the cost of the decking has been quoted around £3,500 - £4,000 and adding that to the minimum amount of £5,000

That is completely & utterly mad - you are crazy to be going into that amount of debt for a pile of wood. Seriously - it's bonkers

No - it IS a complete lie. What other lies are you going to tell when they ask you for details of your other debts. And what if they look at your credit record to confirm the other debts you have?

I can't believe you are looking to "upgrade" your home so soon after all your problems. Why the hell didn't you just save £5,000 and THEN upgrade?

Madness - sorry Heddwen, but I've been through this before with you. I give up

    hi,

i'm not a regular on these boards so forgive me if i've got the wrong end of the stick - you don't actually live in this caravan do you? if it's a holiday home why not just take the money from the sale of the existing one and run, using it to sort out your previous debt problems, then consider another holiday home after a while once your debts are all cleared and your credit record is clear?

if you do live in it full time, then i'm stumped. with hubby's poor credit record and my being a stay at home mum (with perfect credit record lol!) it was difficult to find people willing to lend us money if we needed it, our only chance really was my bank, as i'd been banking with them since childhood with never a black mark they were willing to offer me overdrafts, large loans, etc. despite my lack of income. if you bank online see if they have any pre-approved offers for you (barclays are always trying to tempt me with huge loans that i could never repay lol!). if your bank won't lend to you do you have a mortgage? could you get extra money on that? is the new home in the same place as the old one? you might not need the decking etc., maybe you could try a winter and see how it goes? what's your salary? whenever i've looked at loans nobody would offer more than half of our joint yearly salary (except barclays, with their ridiculous pre-approved loans lol!), so you might find that you could get a loan large enough to pay for the upgrade, then leave the decking until later. this is all assuming that you live in it permanently, if it is just a holiday home i'd be inclined to just not have one if i were you, i like to see our debts reducing month by month with a carefully drawn up plan, i'd panic at the mere thought of taking on more debt lol!

Heddwen, Heddwen oh Heddwen - what are we to do with you. I remember your despairing posts of 6 months or so ago - remember why you're living in a bloody caravan in the first place!

Have you learnt nothing about debt, and not taking it out for stupid stuff?

Have you learnt nothing from the misery of being unable to repay it?

You have a mobile to live in - be happy with it and concentrate on getting rid of all your bloody debt for Christ's sake. It's a roof over your head - does it matter if there's a lump of bloody wood outside the door? Could you just not lay down a few planks or lay some stones or something?

You have taken nothing from your previous experiences and are on the road to destruction once again. DFC is right - you will not listen. It is time to give up.

Grey paving slabs are £2 in B&Q - you could pay £50 and make a nice path ? HTH.

Trailer park envy. Never thought I'd see the day....

£4,000 to deck around a mobile home?

And you certainly don't need a loan "today". It's your property, you sell it when you're good and ready.

But I concur with everyone else. Sounds to me like you're in a behavioural debt cycle. Get into more debt and you might find yourself living in a box under a bridge. Without decking.

Just be content with what you've got. Save your money and spend only what you can afford.
