Edit: lots of apple bits on offer in store in their 'bargain bin' on the electrical dept. red smart covers at £5 off (hardly ever see these reduced) and lots of cables / accessories half price

Always used the Smart Cases for mine and DH's pads, but this year bought these from Amazon and they are equally as good. Really impressed (when I got them they were £10 each, but now gone up but still half the price of Apple). They simply scanned on at that price. However it isn't the latest as it still has the old software on them, but not complaining

Ipad 3, march 2012, was the first with the retina display.
Ipad 4 introduced October 2012, added the lightening connector and a few minor tweaks.

Apple really confused the issue with the naming
