Gem 106 – Pay Your Bills
January 2014
RULES
The following rules (“Rules”) together with Orion Media (“Gem 106″) general and competition terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) (which can be found at www.gem106.co.uk) apply to the ‘Pay Your Bills’ radio competition (“the Competition”) which will run from 26th December 2013 – Friday 24th January 2014 (“the Duration”). Gem 106 may extend this competition should it choose; and will communicate any extension on-air. The “Radio Station” is Gem 106.
Anyone who enters the Competition (an “Entrant”) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. The Terms and Conditions are available on request from the Radio Station.
Details of the Competition
1.1 To enter the Competition an Entrant must visit gem106.co.uk and complete the ‘Pay your bills’ entry form online. Only entries received via gem106.co.uk will be eligible for the Competition. Entry shall remain open throughout the Duration.
1.2 Entrants will be required to provide name, address, valid email address, cheque payee name, contact phone number, specific and verifiable amount of the bill and a reason why the Entrant deserves to be picked to have their bill paid.
1.3 Entrants will be encouraged to listen to Gem 106 as much as they can. At various times, the on-air presenter will announce an Entrant’s name. The named Entrant will then have 30 minutes to call the number stipulated on-air at that time. If the Entrant calls the correct number within this time, subject to the competition rules, the Station will arrange payment of the relevant bill. If the Entrant does not call within the time then they will not win the payment: in these circumstances, the Entrant’s bill will be returned to the pool of potential winners and may, or may not, be selected again.
1.4 Entrants will be selected based on eligibility and the given reason why the bill deserves to be paid; and a desire to have a spread of bill values across the Competition to share the allotted prize fund well. Judges (Station employed staff) will select large chunks of entries at random and then from that random selection, choose a bill based on the quality and substance of the entry. This judging will happen frequently during the Competition to enable as many new entries to be considered as possible; and new entries will not be solicited once the final judging has been made at the end of the competition.
1.7 Judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding Judges’ decisions. The Station reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. Entry in the competition implies acceptance of these rules.
Eligibility
2.1 Bills being submitted by an Entrant can be up to the value of £250, but will be considered if above that and paid out to a maximum value of £250.
2.2 Entries must relate to bills in the same name as the Entrant.
2.3 Entrants must reside in the Radio Station’s analogue FM broadcast area. Entrants must be United Kingdom residents
2.4 Any employees of Orion, their immediate family or any other persons directly connected with the Competition are unable to enter into the competition.
2.5 Only one entry/bill per person and only one email address per person is allowed. Duplicate entries will be invalid.
2.6 Entrants must be 18 years of age or over to be eligible.
2.7 Entrants must be able to produce, on request, the original submitted bill to be eligible to claim the awarded prize. Photocopies will not be accepted. If a bill is requested, Entrants are asked to blank out any sensitive information on the bill such as credit card numbers etc before submitting. The Radio Station will treat all information with the upmost care but will not be held responsible for blanking out such information on receipt of the bill. Failure to provide the submitted bill, on request, will result in disqualification and no prize will be awarded.
2.8 Entrants must submit the entered bill no later than one (1) week from the request. Failure to provide the submitted bill within this timeframe will result in disqualification and no prize will be awarded.
2.9 Notwithstanding that a winner has been declared, if Orion discovers before the delivery of the Prize that for any reason under these Rules or the Terms and Conditions the winner should have been ineligible to enter the Competition or the entry should have been declared invalid, Orion reserves the right to disqualify the winner.
2.10 If the Winner or any member of the winner’s family residing at the same address (including, but not limited to, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents etc.) is found to have won a Prize on any Orion Radio Station within the last six months with a prize value of £500 or greater, The Radio Station reserves the right to withhold or reclaim the Prize from the Winner. The Radio Station’s decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
2.11 An Entrant must participate in the Competition himself or herself in his or her legal name. In the event that a party other than the Entrant attempts to enter the Competition on behalf of that Entrant (whether disclosed or not), that entry will be forfeited and no Prize will be delivered.
2.12 Orion and the Participating Radio Station shall not be responsible for any failure on behalf of an Entrant whose completed entry is not received.
2.13 The Station will not be liable for any damage, loss or disappointment suffered by any person taking part or not being able to take part in a competition.
2.14 Competition winners may be required to take part in or co-operate with publicity and agree that their reasons for seeking to win may be broadcast.
Prize
3.1 The Prize will be a cheque to the value of the bill registered online up to a maximum of £250 and will be made out to the name of the person as registered in their entry online.
3.2 Orion Media reserves the right to substitute the prizes.
3.3 Please allow 28 days from the end of the competition for delivery of the Prizes.
3.4 The prize may not be transferred to any other person.

Thanks, was wondering when they'd actually start! Going to have gem in one ear and absolute radio in the other then!:rotfl:
My concern with the one for Gem is that they ask you to post your bill to them, won't accept photocopies and make no mention of returning it to you?0 -

Gem just announced that they're starting next Monday now, not today, I wish they'd make their minds up. It's a different DJ filling in this week so not sure if that's the reason.Positivity is the key to success0
