Hi there. I hope I can make this make sense and I hope that I have put this in the right place. I get muddled quite a lot.
I changed jobs on 1st October. I now work out in the community rather than in the city. My new work were short-staffed so I offered to work to help out.
I was on the city "bank" (which is basically a second job doing exactly the same thing but allowing me to work more hours as and when I want). When I applied to the city bank, I specified that I was happy to work in the city or in the community... I assumed this was fine as it was an option in the paperwork.
However, I was told at the end of October that I needed to be on the community "bank" and that the city one wouldn't pay me for what I have worked.
As a result, I had to go through the whole application thing again (including getting a disclosure which takes time). The lady in charge of the "bank" was really nice and told me to put in my first extra shift date as my start date so that I get my wages...
... however, it is now December and I have not been paid all the extra shifts I have done. I have worked out that I am due about 40 hours of work.
I have now been accepted on to the bank as I received a pay slip for December including the extra shift I worked in December but nothing for October or November.
My problem is, how do I approach this subject with my new boss. I don't want her to think I am pushy as I haven't been there that long and I am still trying to find my feet.
How long do I have before I will have missed the boat and won't get it backdated or is there not a cut-off limit??
Basically I am just looking for a bit of advice as I really could be done with the money (think I am down about £300). I have ended up borrowing more money off my parents as I need the money I usually make working the extra shifts so need this money to pay them back.
Thanks for any advice I get.

If you knew they would not pay you for the work you had already done for them why did you continue working for them?0
