Hi all. As the question asks really - is anyone else's daffodils coming up? I'm not in a microclimate I'm in the north west and they are really noticeably coming up. Will they survive. Planted about 2 years ago. Very novice gardener here clearly!

Daffs may well survive, but so early?! Wow! Enjoy them & even if weather pulls a flanker, you know where to hope next year!0

Sorry I wasn't clear no flowers but the stalk bits are between just poking up and the highest is about 8 inches.0

If we have a long spell of very bad weather the flowers may cop it this year, but the bulbs should be fine.. Mine are poking up as well, but I'm in Kent, so rather milder on the whole. You can help them by tucking a small mound of leaves around them. If these blow away, stick a few twigs on as well. Or fingers crossed!
Odd things do happen ... my nectarine tree is coming into bloom! Pretty, but not good for fruiting, that's for sure!0 -
Thank you both. I'm glad it sounds as though they won't die as I do love the fact they are the ultimate in low maintenance.0

yes, some of my smaller daffs are poking through. Also have a fuchsia, that I thought died down, coming into flower and I saw masses of lawn daisies yesterday.0

Mine are about 4ins in height, only planted them this year as well. In North Wales.

Yep,mine too.
I am in a particularly cold rural spot in the south, mine seem to appear, then flower about two weeks, sometimes more, after those in the nearest villages, which are not so far behind the local towns.
I already have a fair bit in bud or flower, my earliest and favourite japenese quince has been going for a couple of weeks now.

My quince is just coming into blossom now, usually it is towards the end of February. Snowdrops and daffs are on their way. I have a sheltered walled garden but it is still very early.0

I have quite a few bulb shoots showing but I think a good bit away from flowering. South east Scotland and we haven't had many frosts. Hellebores are showing loads of flowers.0

My mum mentioned planting them in mid-December and seeing the shoots emerge just before Christmas! It reminded me that I need to plant the ones I have hibernating in the shed.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!
