Does anyone own a Jack Stonehouse food mixer? I got one of these for Xmas and tried using it today but it only operates for about 10 seconds before turning itself off! I'd like to be sure it's not something I'm doing wrong before I enter into the kerfuffle of sending it back to Amazon. Any advise appreciated.

Yes I have one and I got it for my Birthday in September. I'm a chef and I purchased the item to improve my cake making skill. I have used it only 3 times prior to this past Friday when I turned it on and it went straight to the highest speed setting. The speed variation control stopped working and it also turned itself off after a few seconds. I've got the exteded warranty with mine from a company called Square Trade, but because it is still within the manufacturers warrant they are not willing to do anything just yet. I am going to have to find the original docs and pursue this. Good luck with your issue. I will keep you all posted on my progress.0
