I tried to take advantage of a £10 discount on orders over £20 and bought a Inforad K2 Deluxe Speed Camera Warning System for £39.99 but once I had completed payment I found that the discount had not been applied and I had paid more than I expected.
I contacted customer service via email and asked for either just the £10 to be refunded or failing that the total sum that I had paid as I seemed to be entitled to according to my understanding of the site's policy on changing one's mind.
I received a reply five days later containing the following:
One other point is that the phone number in the email no longer gets you through to anybody but does allow you to get a new number that you can call and spend ten minutes listening to the usual pre-recorded "Ha ha, you're paying and we'll pick up in the future, some time or other" type message.
Do I have any right to reclaim my money via my credit card company as I did try to resolve the matter but have failed to get any useful response from Mighty deals, thanks.

I replied the same day restating my issue and received a second reply eight days later, containing the following:Thank you for your email, please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to you, we are experiencing a high volume of queries due to the festive season.
Has your query been resolved as of yet ie via a phone call to ourselves? If so then you may disregard this email.
If your query has not been resolved, then do let me know and myself and the team will endeavor to yourself your query as soon as we can.
Irritatingly both emails have the following entry at the top:
I would like to apologise that your query has not been looked in to.
I am sorry for the delay in resolving your query, we are working as hard as we can to resolve all queries as quickly as we can.
If your query is still valid and needs a resolution then do respond to this email, if not then please do disregards this email.
Sadly I cannot tell what has been done to solve my problem as not only has there been no credit to my credit card but also the purchase no longer appears in my account with MightyDeals due to it having passed it''s expiry date and so I have no money and no warning system, which isn't what I would call a Mighty Deal!Your request (ID#******) has been deemed solved. Should this not be the case or to reopen, please reply to this email.

look at the huge thread under consumer rights. a mighty deals person seems to be replying to queries. good luck!0

Contact your card provider and ask them about initiating a chargeback.0
-
Thank-you both, i'll let my credit card company work on it as they charge me enough interest if I don't pay in full.0
-
For anyone in the same boat, my credit card company ruled that as I was issued a voucher that there are no grounds for a refund and MightyDeals Customer Service is not bothering to reply to emails - all in all I don't think that i'll be recommending them to anyone in the future.0

Seem to be lots of complaints on these boards about them lately
Your bank is wrong, maybe complain about the bank further

No mention of voucher only this
When can chargeback be used?
Chargeback can be used in cases of goods not arriving, arriving damaged, arriving not as described, or where the merchant has ceased trading.0 -

Hmmm... that really is debatable.
I could understand the bank saying something like "you used your card to purchase a voucher from Mighty Deals. Might Deals have supplied exactly what they were contracted to supply... a voucher. Sorry there is no reason to chargeback".
Whether that stance by the bank is right or not... I don't know.0 -
Thanks for your thoughts. I decided not to bother trying to get MBNA to review the case, but instead went with the idea of posting again to my case thread at the Mighty Deals site, just to see how long it would be before I got a reply.
So far, i've got one post on 21st December and two in January without any response from the company, but on the bright side they have included a "What do you think of the customer service" question with two buttons and a place to write an opinion - care to guess which button I clicked?0 -
Hi Everyone,
Please email me your voucher codes to twitter@mightydeals.co.uk and I will try to resolve your issue as soon as possible.
Thank you.

Good evening, and thank-you for your post. Unfortunately I cannot do this as the voucher code was removed and replaced with the legend EXPIRED - I did try to resolve the issue before this happened, but it didn't go according to plan.0

Although I did receive an initial email response from Mighty Deals, I am now back where I started, two emails not replied to and counting.
I did go back and add to my original customer service thread though, so that one is still ongoing.0
