hi I swapped banks 2 months ago from tsb to barclays, I gave my employer my new card details ad they said it would take 2 weeks to go through and I would get that months wages then. I didn't get any money so I asked them about it and they had put my name in wrong so they corrected it and said it'll be another 2 weeks. still nothing so this Saturday just passed they rang me and said they'll do a bacs transfer. so nearly a week has passed since then and still nothing. I havnt paid any bills, I havnt been able to do ANY Christmas shopping and it's making me depressed. I'm thinking it will go in on Monday due to all the holidays but can I claim compensation or anything seeing as I havnt had any money at all for 2 months?
thanks

at my workplace when they !!!! up wages (way too frequently) they have to pay any charges incurred (they'll want proof, but my bank will write letters to say how much they are for)... This will go for anything else that charged you in the time frame....
Call them today - they should still have time to chase it before Monday, to make sure it does... If they can't make sure it will do, can they give you some petty cash at least to tide you over? Sorry don't know what type of business it is, but it may be worth asking... A previous workplace did this for me once, they just asked me to sign a receipt - but they did deal with cash, so it was a realistic option...
You have 12 weeks to open a claim at a tribunal (according to ACAS on the phone bout 10 days ago) - keep an eye on this, and when speaking to them, let them know that if you have to you will take them to tribunal for unlawful deduction of wages... (it is no longer free - however they have admitted they are at fault, and it shouldn't be taking them 8 weeks to sort this out)...
It truly sucks, and I'm so glad this for me was sorted before Christmas, and good luck.
Call them ASAP, as there is a small chance that there is someone in the office now. If you can't get through then call them first thing on Monday...
Good luck.
