QuickQuid insisting that I call?

Hello,
I took out a loan with QQ in August and decided to pay my loan back monthly as I can't affored to pay it all back in 1 go,
Last month I told them that I cannot make a payment and so instead of taking the full amount they took less,
Tomorrow the full amount is due and unfortunately I cannot repay it,
so reading up on forums etc I contacted my bank a few days ago to cancel the continuous payment authority, and contacted QQ advising them of this and also that I cannot pay back my loan right now instead willing to pay it back in installments over 6 months,
They have emailed me back saying that "all payment plans must be processed over the phone", and i'm not sure if I should phone them or not... I'd much rather do things over email so that I have proof of the communication but if they're insisting that I call them,
Should I call them?
Or should I ignore them and hope they take it further?
Thanks for any advice!

You want them to take it further? Debt collectors and doorstep collections?

If you discuss any business over the phone it is usually recorded anyway, you can always ask if you are unsure. If you ever need any evidence for any reason, phone recordings have to be made available to you if requested so I wouldn't worry about that side of things.December 2011 £180000 :eek::eek::eek:

If they keep hassling you by phone, change your phone number and put forward your payment proposal in writing by recorded delivery. Don't worry about doorstep collectors, or 'Goons' as they are affectionately known. They have absolutely no power to make you pay or promise anything.0

That is unfortunate for them. If you offer a plan and they refuse to acknowledge it, then they don't in reality have a lot of leverage. If they go to court with it, then sight of your rejected efforts to put the matter right won't look good for them. They have emailed me back saying that "all payment plans must be processed over the phone",
I suggest that you put forward your plan to them in email again and state that you will pay them anyway if they won't accept or discuss by email.
And make sure you pay them according to your plan. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
hi i had the same problem a month or so ago, i just told them i wanted them to cancel the CPA on my card, and had already told my bank to do so, and said i would be unable to pay, they at first said payment plans are not an option but after the same conversation about four times they gave me their bank details and allowed me to set up a payment plan with them. At first they point blank refused, but i kept telling them and staying firm with them rather than let them tell me, and it worked. i did it all via email and refused to talk to anyone over the phone, so have written proof of everything. hope that helps x0

forward your plan to them in email againi did it all via email
Some people have more confidence in email than I do. You can compose email "evidence" in Notepad and print it out!
Please ONLY send communications such as this by post. It may be slower and cost a bit more but is irrefutable proof if sent "Signed for".0
