Argos gift voucher

Within sounding unselfish, I had a voucher worth £150 for Argos for Christmas. I don't know what to do with it as I never shop in Argos and it doesn't really offer me anything I need. I'm 25 married homeowner with a son. I don't want to end up wasting the voucher for the sale of just 'using I because it's there'
My question is; what do I get for the sake of it really?
I'm abit frustrated because I like near to a huge retail park and shopping centre and I would have put vouchers for them places to a greater use.
Thanks for any advice

What would you have bought from the huge retail park and shopping centre? Argos covers most things.
Something you need for your house? Pay for Birthday and Christmas presents for family and friends using the vouchers all year and then spend the equivalent spent on yourself- or save it as the case may be.0 -
I would probably have got a few cheap films. Also get my photos from the year printed (500+) and maybe get my sons first football shirt framed0

Try selling it, on Ebay!
Harsh words and poor reasoning never settle anything

You could try selling it, or see what the use by date is, if it has one. I don't tend to shop at Argos that much as I can often get the same thing cheaper, but it does come in handy, especially at sale times. Would it be useful to use for your sons birthday on games or toys?0

Hi, I would suggest you use it for birthday/Christmas presents for your son and his friends. They have good offers on toys and so you can usually get more for your money.0

I never used to rate Argos but I've got some really good buys in there recently. The kids clothing is good and some of the household bits are brilliant. Why not use the voucher to buy some Christmas presents for next year and then use £150 out of your bank as the pressie to yourself? I'll be doing this with my Next vouchers.0

If you don't want to use it for yourself, be it things for the house, clothes for yourself, garden etc. Then how about buying your son some things with it??
If you really don't want it, then there should be no problem buying your son some toys, clothes, school stuff..... The list goes on!
I'm not sure what you think Argos sell these days but they sell almost everything! Including frames for your son's football shirt!
Instead of thinking about the negatives of the gift you were given, how about thinking about the positives??
Buy yourself a frame for your son's footie shirt, and if you don't want anything else for yourself, then spend the rest on presents for your son for next Christmas or Birthdays or just a treat. Buy him clothes...... kids ALWAYS need clothes. Or treat yourself to a game for your games console, buy yourself a games console if you don't have one. Buy yourself some photo frames and albums to put all those photos you want to print off in.
I don't know about anyone else but I would be DELIGHTED if I got a present like the one you don't want. It would save me money, for things for the house, gifts for my children and other family members and I'd be able to get myself a few treats for myself along the way.
Not being rude or offensive, but you say you are trying to be - unselfish??? and you don't need anything in Argos. I think you are the only person in the country who doesn't need or buy anything from Argos. I personally think you are being ungrateful, and are possibly a bit annoyed that you didn't get something you wanted for Xmas?? For a 25 year old to say they don't need anything in Argos for them, their family or their son, baffles me.
£150 is a lot of money, whoever gave you that gift obviously thinks a lot of you, and obviously assumed that like the rest of the residents of the UK and Ireland - that you would be able to find SOMETHING to buy yourself with it. There has been thought put into that gift as it's not like any other gift voucher where someone has no idea what to buy you so the run in and buy a £10 voucher for M&S etc. But to give you a £150 one means they obviously think you will use it, will appreciate it and use it wisely!
If all else fails and you still cannot find anything to buy in Argos for you, your home, family or son, and really do not want the vouchers, then give it to a Charity. A Homeless charity maybe! Think of the amount of things they could buy for the homeless, duvets pillows, blankets, clothes etc that they would need in the horrible weather we are all experiencing at the minute.Pay all debt off by Christmas 2025 £815.45/£3,000£1 a day challenge 2025 - £180/£730 Declutter a bag a week in 2025 11/52Lose 25lb - 10/25lbs Read 1 book per week - 5/52Pay off credit card debt 18%/100%0 -
Argos sell vouchers for other shopping places - such as next and Debenhams. You can always buy these vouchers with the vouchers for argos.:wave:0
