A Christmas (Advent) Carol

A small summary of how I've found my first year's 'adventing' - hopefully some light amusement for you on Christmas Eve.
Happy Christmas all, and thanks to all those who helped out along the way :-)
There's make-up, clothes, and golfing stuff, and lots of children's toys,
Cameras, phones, and days out getting pampered.
And if this year you've been a real good comping girl or boy,
Perhaps you'll get to win a Christmas hamper.
We've shone a torch to find a prize in Varta's nifty feature,
Decked our Nokia deer in lots of bling.
We've found the mystery word from HTC's strange tentacled creature,
And wondered what prize each new door would bring.
We've ripped the paper from so many neatly-packaged gifts,
Flung doors wide open, pulled a lot of crackers.
Opened, oh, so many presents, and have put in such a shift,
Dorset Cereal's page is now just empty wrappers.
You're named after a carol, yet you failed me, Silentnight,
You offered us a hippo and a duck?
You weren't alone in following Scrooge and being rather tight,
Heinz ran you very close with gifts that suck.
I'm not impressed that discounts can be offered as a 'prize',
I hope that you are reading, Royal Mint.
Free delivery's no better, but from your meanness I surmise,
This country must be well and truly skint.
Daily cute reminders have been posted up by Tink,
"Day Fourteen - fluffy meeces," she'd advise.
A few upon this board misunderstood and seemed to think,
The fluffy meeces were the actual prize.
I've shaken baubles off Three's tree on each and every day,
Liked posts, left comments, even gone to 'share it'.
I've entered several contests trying to win some lingerie,
Although it isn't me who'd get to wear it.
I'll never have to pay full price for Sudocrem again,
And if I ever venture to Bluewater.
I'll get a small reduction on a food that I disdain,
And use discounts to spend much more than I oughta.
I've discovered the collective noun for turkeys (two or more),
Is 'rafter', not a gaggle, or a herd.
And from my true love, Twelve Days gifts would total three-six-four,
Including quite a large amount of birds.
I've learned of Pere Noel, of Santa Claus and of Kris Kringle,
And think I now know all the reindeer names.
But if Rudolph is as good as me at finding winning Pringles,
It's no wonder he was barred from reindeer games.
It's taken lots of effort, but much thanks OneYorkshireLass,
We've all expended blood and sweat and tears.
In time, I'm sure the pain we've felt eventually will pass,
And we'll start the whole thing off again next year.

Thank you all, I'm glad you enjoyed :-) A few themes struck me as I was 'adventing', I didn't think I'd get time to put it all into words, but staying up late last night got me 'ahead of the game' for today which gave me enough time to make my thoughts rhyme :-)
And thanks for gold weeowens, now, if I could just get some frankincense and myrrh to go with that .... :-)0 -
Brilliant, well done, I enjoyed that.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams
