Hi everyone, happy Christmas!
I purchased a yellow sticker turkey today with date of boxing day. If I cook it on boxing day and store in fridge can we eat two days later? Or does it have to be eaten in 26th? If that's the case I'm guessing I could cook and then freeze cooked meat safely?
Any advice gratefully received.

You can cook & freeze or just freeze uncooked. But, if fridge is on coldest temp, I should think it'll be ok to cook on the 26th & keep. If you're not going to use it all two days later, might be best to freeze whatever you think will be left over on the 26th when the meat has cooled.
**if it has giblets in, take them out now - don't leave them inside it**0 -
Cook it and it will be fine for a day or two.
Any leftovers you can turn into pulled turkey I have turned last nights leftover pork into pulled pork and stuffing sandwiches and tonight we will be having sandwiches with it. You can do the same with your excess turkey. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I have a recipe for chicken soup, made with the carcass. All that's been left of every chicken I've bought is a pile of bare bones. I can't see any reason why this shouldn't work for a turkey carcass. If anyone's interested, I'll post it here.If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

You are right it works exactly the same as for chicken, I have done this for the last 50 odd years and would really miss my turkey soup.Slimming World at target0 -

Does anyone have a turkey recipe soup for a soup, without using the carcass? I can find a Boxing day soup recipe where someone says she puts everything into her soup - turkey, stuffing, left-over veg - and I have a new soup maker so wondering if that would work!0

You can remove the meat from the bones before making the soup, instead of afterwards. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

It's really good if, like me, you find it hard to think beyond cold on Boxing Day, curry the day afterIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up!
